2026 Committees
Linn Presbyterian Church has a leadership structure that is consistent with all PC (USA) churches. The Nominating Committee comprised of volunteers each year present candidates to serve as Ruling Elders to Session and Deacons are elected by the Congregation each year. Additional working committees are huge part of what make our mission so successful. There are many ways to be involved and to serve the church and the broader community at Linn Church.

The Nominating Committee is voted upon each year at the Annual Meeting of the Congregation held at the end of January. The Nominating Committee’s role is to identify potential leaders for the church to serve on Session and on Deacons.

Session
In the Presbyterian church leadership structures, the “Session” is the body of Ruling Elders that leads the church. Nominating Committee presents candidates to the congregation in November each year. Those candidates are voted upon by the entire congregation before serving on Session. Elders serve for three years, with the option of extending their term up to a maximum of an additional three years. All Ruling Elders must step down from Session for a minimum of one year before agreeing to serve in leadership again. The goal of every Presbyterian church is to have a diversity of members to participate in leadership of the church. The Teaching Elder, or Pastor of the church, moderates all Session meetings and employs the Roberts Rules so that due process and order is maintained and motions are given proper opportunity for discussion and investigation before decisions are made for the church.
